Over memorial day weekend, my mom and I took a trip to the Chaminade resort and spa in Santa Cruz, California. Our weekend consisted of relaxing spa treatments, exploring new cuisines, and of course shopping at some of the trendy boutiques tailored to the Santa Cruz lifestyle. This weeks outfit inspiration comes from a trend that I was a little hesitant to try at first, which is the gladiator sandal. Here is my take on this unique summer shoe trend.
Style Tips: It’s all in the details! Don’t be afraid to pair different pieces that you might think look too busy together. By mixing these intricately designed sandals with an origami skirt and python clutch, I feel like I can wear all of my favorite pieces while expressing my true style.
Floppy hats and blue aviator lenses are my go-tos this summer. They are so versatile and can add a chic but cool vibe to any look.
Tired of wearing that same neon stone statement necklace with all of your outfits? Try swapping it with a western style choker necklace to mix up your look this season. I love rose gold and this piece I found at H&M was simple yet interesting enough to create a different vibe from my normal looks and goes especially well with collared shirts.
How adorable is this clutch!? While shopping on Pacific Avenue, I stumbled upon this store called Sway and found it for only ten dollars! I loved the color and python print and the folded over corners make it a truly unique purchase. With several locations open in the Bay Area and its incredible prices, Sway is definitely a store I will be visiting more often!
Gladiator sandals were the true inspiration for my look this week. They can elevate your simple shorts and T-shirt look without making you feel like you’re about to attend a toga party! Since I am a girl always on a budget, I found these Top Moda sandals on Overstock.com through Polyvore. I love Polyvore because it filters the type of product you are looking for at every available online store allowing me to find the perfect style for the lowest price!
Some other ways to style this type of sandal include pairing it with your favorite summer dress, high waisted cut-off shorts, or even a maxi skirt! The possibilities are endless : )
